1Health Interprofessional Communication Skills & Beginner Escape Room

The Interprofessional Communication Skills and Beginner Escape Room course is a skill-building experience that combines TeamSTEPPS and IHI modules on effective teamwork and interprofessional communication with hands-on learning activities that provide students with the opportunity to practice communicating as a team using the SBAR (Situation Background Assessment Recommendation) technique. The Escape Room experience gives students an opportunity to practice efficient teamwork and effective communication skills among health professions students by challenging small, interprofessional groups of students to work together to complete a set of puzzles in order to 'escape' the escape room and save the patient in a case scenario.
