Interprofessional Practice-based Observation and Advanced IPE Escape Room

Interprofessional Practice-based Observation and Advanced IPE Escape Room

This learning experience promotes the application of interprofessional skills and competencies required in a clinical practice or community setting. Prior to participation in a session, students utilize a guided observation tool to observe interprofessional teamwork and collaborative care in the practice or community-based setting, which increases their awareness and understanding of how these skills contribute to patient care.

At the session, students will engage in an Advanced Interprofessional Escape Room activity during which they practice developing teamwork, communication and collaboration skills with an interprofessional group of students. The faculty-led debriefing discussion provides participants with the opportunity to share their reflections regarding their rotation experience as well as their experience with the escape room activity. This creates a unique opportunity for participants to learn about other perspectives and experiences relating to teamwork and collaborative care.
