Interprofessional Student Spotlight

“I enjoy interprofessional activities because they have allowed me to connect with amazing people studying to work in such a wide range of health care professions. Everyone is extremely passionate and supportive, which builds a strong sense of community within the health sciences programs at the U of M. Different specialities are able to provide unique perspectives about situations that I otherwise may not consider. The interprofessional activities have taught me about the unique roles and responsibilities of different professions in health care settings and how crucial effective collaboration and communication between them is for providing high quality and holistic care to patients. As a future nurse, I expect to use my interprofessional education every day in order to work with the entire health care team to achieve the best possible patient outcomes. I also anticipate that my interprofessional experiences will allow me to create meaningful relationships with fellow health care workers and a supportive workplace environment for everyone.”
