Interprofessional Student Spotlight

“I enjoy working with people who see patient care through different lenses. Whether it's discussing a patient's progress with nursing staff or learning from physical therapists about post-op recovery, these interactions push me to think beyond just one side of treatment. It’s inspiring to see how each role contributes to a patient’s journey. Actually working with professionals from different fields teaches me how patient care functions in real time. At the student-run Phillips Neighbourhood Clinic (PNC) for example, I’ve seen how social work, pharmacy, nutrition, medical students and more come together to create solutions that no single person could have come up with alone. These experiences have helped prepare me to collaborate more effectively in the future. In my future career, I hope to foster an environment where every team member’s expertise is valued. The more I learn from interprofessional experiences now, the better I'll be at ensuring that patients receive well-rounded, thoughtful care.”
