Interprofessional Student Spotlight
“When participating in interprofessional activities, I enjoy meeting other students and learning more about what their educational path looks like. I also enjoy learning more about what their future career's day-to-day looks like and how they approach common patient presentations and diagnoses. This helps me to learn more about their scope of practice so that I can better understand what typically happens when a patient gets referred to them and how we can work together to care for a patient. Interprofessional activities enhance my learning and training by allowing me to practice effective communication within a healthcare team. I think as a learner and observer, it is often easy to see what is going wrong or what can be improved in interprofessional teams we see on rotation, so getting to actively participate and practice these scenarios with other learners is very helpful.”
