“I have a vast amount of experience working with interprofessional teams and strongly believe working with others across multiple disciplines makes for the most effective outcomes in the health care setting. We cannot do this alone. My personal experience communicating and building strong relationships with other professionals has been amazing and allowed me to better understand the resources available to patients and how I can best care for them when I may not directly be involved with their care at that moment. It also helps me become a more well rounded student who sees health care from a holistic point of view. There is a lot of nuance when approaching medicine. Having a solid foundation because of my previous interprofessional experiences is invaluable. You also get to make friends along the way, that's very important too.”
