HOPE Clinic (Yr. 1 of 2)

The Health of People Everywhere (HOPE) Clinic is an interprofessional student-run, faculty-supervised educational clinic with the purpose to provide free medical access to the underserved populations of Duluth, especially those experiencing homelessness residing at the CHUM Center.  Students that participate will debrief on the experience, including on what they learned about different professions and their roles. The HOPE Clinic experience is typically a two-year long commitment. 

Institute for Healthcare Improvement Open School Chapter at the University of Minnesota Chapter (IHI UMN)

IHI UMN’s mission is to equip and engage interprofessional student teams in quality improvement projects within our local health landscape through mutually beneficial relationships with community partners. To achieve this mission, student leaders from different health professional programs partner with local healthcare organizations including MHealth Fairview, Hennepin Healthcare and the Community-University Healthcare Center to identify ongoing quality improvement projects within real-world healthcare systems that students can contribute to and learn from.

Phillips Neighborhood Clinic (Yr. 2 of 2)

The Phillips Neighborhood Clinic (PNC) is an interprofessional student-run, free clinic in which students from multiple health professions care for an underserved population under the guidance of an interprofessional team of preceptors. Throughout their time with the clinic, students volunteer both in the clinic and at community outreach sites where they learn about the community, the culture of the people they serve and the skills needed to practice their profession within an interprofessional collaborative team.

Interprofessional Student Internship

Our health sciences interns will learn together, solve problems together, and develop real world working relationships. Selected interns are partnered with a clinical/community health care and/or educational system and will undertake a project focused on advancing interprofessional practice and education. Interns also engage in an interprofessional leadership training curriculum and practice these skills in monthly student-led collaboration sessions.

MNLEND (Minnesota Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental & Related Disabilities)

The Minnesota Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (MNLEND) Program is an interdisciplinary leadership training program spanning 16+ disciplines across the University of Minnesota. Funded by the U. S. Maternal & Child Health Bureau (MCHB), MNLEND facilitates the development of leaders with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to allow them to take informed, committed action in the areas of neurodevelopmental and related disabilities.
