Cody Thao is a Master's in Healthcare Administration student and an Interprofessional Education (IPE) Scholar.
What do you enjoy most about interprofessional activities?
Healthcare is a field filled with a wide range of professionals with diverse skill sets and knowledge. I am not the smartest person in the room, but I am curious and love to ask questions. I enjoy interprofessional activities because I get the opportunity to learn from my colleagues and peers.
How do interprofessional activities enhance your learning and/or training?
Learning from my colleagues and peers in different health professional programs grounds me in the reality that healthcare and care delivery are highly complex. These activities have nurtured and fostered my cultural competence and empathy regarding the challenges faced by various healthcare professionals.
How do you envision incorporating what you learn through interprofessional activities into your future career?
I will be graduating with a Master's in Healthcare Administration, and my interprofessional perspective guides my responsibility as a future administrator to serve, uplift, and advocate for all the individuals who make up the healthcare workforce.
