Jocie Larson is a medical student and an Interprofessional Education (IPE) Scholar.
What do you enjoy most about interprofessional activities?
I enjoy getting to know students and faculty in other fields, learning about their motivations, and supporting each other!
How do interprofessional activities enhance your learning and/or training?
Participating in interprofessional activities in medical school has helped broaden my perspective on the value of collaboration with others. I've gained knowledge and hard skills that are not traditionally taught in my program, and have built relationships with other future professionals in the process.
How do you envision incorporating what you learn through interprofessional activities into your future career?
I understand that my training as a future physician has limits, and that my patients will receive the best version of healthcare when I incorporate my own training with the skills and knowledge sets of other health professionals. I see myself practicing medicine with humility and a strong desire to work with others to best support the communities we serve.
